Company Profile Bio and Gene Pty. Ltd is an Australian biotechnology company established in 2003. Bio and Gene's vision is to share the benefit of biotechnology in daily life through discovery and enabling commercialisation of promising technologies and products. Our core capability is in licensing and trading of life science related technologies and products between Australia and Asian regions. Our focus is to use Australia and South Korea as the respective gateways between the Western and Asian markets. Both countries have very unique and complimentary market dynamics. Australia offers highly sophisticated and internationally recognised research and clinical trial environments for biotechnology companies in Asia seeking to expand into the western countries. South Korea offers a cost effective product development and manufacturing environment for Western companies wishing to enter East Asian markets. South Korea also provides opportunities to source unique and promising products and technologies from a myriad of emerging biotechnology companies. We are assisting our customers to expand their business into lucrative overseas pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets, both in South Korea and Australia, through technology transfer and licensing. Company ManagementAndrew Han - Managing Director
Andrew is Managing Director of both Bio and Gene Pty. Ltd (Australia) and Solomon Medical Research (Korea). Solomon Medical Research is a Contract Research Organisation specializing in Pharmaceuticals. In his prior appointment, Andrew was Chief Strategic Officer of IDR Tech, a specialty bio-informatics and Pharmaceutical R&D company in Korea. He was also Chair person and Chief Executive Officer of Imagene Co., Ltd., a novel drug development company, which is working in the field of antibiotics and anticancer. He is a founder of both IDR Tech and Imagene Co., Ltd. Andrew has a Agricultural Chemistry B.Sc. Degree from Seoul National University and completed Grad. Diploma. at University of New South Wales School of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in 1991, in Sydney Australia. Whilst completing Ph.D. studies, Andrew joined Biosym Technology Inc., a San Diego based company in 1994, as an Asia Pacific Regional Technical Consultant. In 1997, he became General Manger of Molecular Simulation Inc, Korean Operation where he successfully developed the market for molecular simulation software for the development of novel drug candidates.

Sangjun is responsible for sales and marketing operations for Korean and Asia Pacific markets. Sangjun has over 15 years of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry experience in Korea, both in R&D and sales. In his previous appointment, Sangjun worked in the sales management position within SK Chemicals. Sangjun has a Agricultural Chemistry B.Sc. Degree from Seoul National University.

Sungki joined Bio and Gene in 2003 as Senior Director, responsible for strategic planning of new projects and management of operations. In this role, Sungki has been working with key strategic Korean pharmaceutical companies to list and register pharmaceutical products through the Australian Therapeutic Good Administration (TGA) and provide strategic market planning and commercialization strategies. In previous appointments, Sungki has worked in the IT industry in Australia and Asia Pacific region for over 15 years as product and marketing manager for networking and IT companies. Sungki has an Engineering Degree in Telecommunications from University of New South Wales, as well as Grad. Diploma of Business (Marketing) from University of Technology, Sydney.

Stuart is responsible for business development and sales of customised chemicals and radiolabelled entities to the Australasian based commercial and academic organisations involved in research and drug discovery. Stuart has a PhD in science from University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Diploma in Directorship from the AICD. Stuart has an extensive experience in product development and commercialization of pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and consumer products.

Diane has responsibility of managing all Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs for Bio and Gene. In her previous appointments, Diane has worked as Senior Manufacturing Pharmacist with Royal North Shore Hospitals and as Pharmacist for Westmead Hospital. Diane has a Bachelor of Pharmacist Degree from University of Sydney.
